Calculating the Cost to Mail Items

Have you ever wondered if there was any structure to the gold necessary to send items via mail? Is a tiered for regular vs. express? Is it just random? Well, I took a look at several items to find out, so here are my findings.

As it turns out, the pricing for mailing items is not random; in fact, the gold needed is actually quite linear for both regular and express. I've listed the formulas and a chart of some example items below:

Regular:
Cost = 100 + 20%*(VSP)

Express:
Cost = 200 + 50%*(VSP)

Where VSP = Vendor Sell Price [the gold you get for selling to a vendor]

Examples:
Item Name Vendor Sell Price (Gold) Regular (Gold) Express (Gold)
Lann Football Uniform 1000 300 700
Empty Bottle 10 102 205
Rune of Dominion 100 120 250

There are anomalies though. Rampage's Earrings are worth 0 gold when sold to vendors, but takes 1196 gold to send regularly. Using the formula above, Rampage's Earrings should cost 5480 gold when sold to vendors. If you find any other such anomalies, be sure to leave a comment below!
