New Patch = Nerfs Galore?

Along with Karok, the new patch (V 1.31) came out with some major monster nerfs.  The nerfs affect things such as: mob quantity, monster AI, and even boss attack moves (or lack of attack moves). Here are just some of the nerfs that I have noticed:
  • Harma has a useless charge-up (like he's about to create that big black mass and shoot it at you), and now has a slow and easy-to-dodge 1-hit hammer swing
  • Spear goblins in Rocheste don't seem to throw as much (AI-nerf)
  • Two Moons wisp bosses seem to have less defense and the boss stage spawns fewer mobs
  • Flambe stage spawns fewer suicide goblins in the beginning
  • Goliath boss stage no longer continues to spawn frog mobs indefinitely
Honestly, I think these nerfs kind of dumb down the game; they weren't too difficult to handle in the first place. It makes me wonder what kind of nerfs are in store for Irukul, and other difficult raid bosses.

If you noticed any differences, feel free to comment!

Busy Busy Busy

It's been a busy week, so I haven't had the chance to update the dailies. For all you who are interested in the stats, I'll be uploading it on the weekend.

P.S. Have fun with the Karok! Make some gold while you're at it too.

Random: Gain SP and Proc Buffs From Dead Bodies

When you're near the dead body of a boss in a gauntlet game, you will slowly gain SP.  The more dead boss bodies lumped up together in one location, the faster the rate of gain.  I assume this works the same way by keeping a close proximity to living bosses in gauntlets as well, but I've yet to confirm that.  I'd appreciate it if someone tries it out to see if it holds true.

Another random thing I discovered is that you may proc, or trigger, buffs on dead bodies.  An Evie with a Chaos-enchanted spellbook kept kicking dead boss bodies and the buff for +150 M. ATK triggered.

Both events are pretty random, but I find the SP-gain in gauntlets a little more useful than triggering buffs from dead boss bodies.  I guess necrophiliacs can rejoice?

Congratulations Vindictus: An Addicting F2P MMORPG

I'm not most people, but congratulations Vindictus/Nexon!  You were able to keep me attracted to your game for over 6 months.  Of the MMORPGs that I have played, I usually quit a couple of months in, and with my main character at a level no higher than the 30s range.  I haven't played too many MMORPGs, but I have played: Runes of Magic; Granado Espada (Sword of the New World); Silk Road Online; RuneScape; Ragnarok Online; and even Nexon's very own MapleStory.

None of these games mentioned above were addicting enough to keep me playing past level 50.  Vindictus, however, is one of the only free-to-play MMORPGs that have kept me interested enough to reach level 53 (and I'm still interested!).  I think it's addictiveness doesn't come from their daily battle system, but from their unique physics-based, almost FPS-esque, and fast-paced style of play.  With the minor exception of Rocheste, Vindictus also did a great job in eliminating the ubiquitous chore of walking great distances to complete quests and fight different monsters.  So once again, congratulations Vindictus!  You got me hooked.

Armor Discrimination & Level Discrimination

Discrimination is evident in our society; it is also evident in the Vindictus community as well.  And it doesn't involve racism.  It is concerned with armor and level discrimination.  Those with old armor sets, or of lower levels will be booted from a boat almost instantaneously.

Hate Leechers? Try This! (Video)

Ever had someone join your game only to be afk (with the exception of F12-ing) and to leech off the hard work of you and your teammates? It happens to the best of us. Here's something fun you can do the next time a leecher joins your game!
